A big group of St. Louis kids - 50 of them, all under the age of 19 - will stage a benefit musical revue to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The show, “Why We Tell The Story,” will be presented at Mary Institute Country Day School, 101 North Warson Road, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The show is staged by the Arch City Theater Troupe, a company that Helen Rapp, who is 17 now, organized a few years ago to raise money for JDRF after her younger brother, Turner, was diagnosed with the illness. This is the troupe’s fifth annual show; it has raised thousands of dollars for the charity.
This year’s edition features numbers from lots of hit musicals, including “Aida,” “Mary Poppins,” “Legally Blonde,” “Cinderella” and more.
There’s no charge for tickets, but donations are always welcome. Besides the entertainment, the fundraiser includes an auction, a raffle and a bake sale. For more information, visit actt.worldbreak.com online. Unfortunately, we can’t find a website for good kids.
